In late 1998 work began to build Fiji’s first designed eco-tourist resort on the site. Features of this design include
recycling of all "grey" water and triple filtering of toilet waste, composting of all paper and vegetable matter, no
pesticides and wherever possible food is home-grown or organic.
Timber buildings are carefully sited amongst trees and boulders
(only 1 tree was removed during construction), with views over the
lakes - accommodation caters for backpackers in one section of the
property ( 3 dormitories with self catering kitchen and toilet/shower
blocks with hot water showers) and couples/families in another section
(4 detached Bures)
A restaurant, bar, shop and reception/office near the front entrance caters for both guests and locals.
